What you believe, you achieve, you think you can, if you think you can’t, You’re right either way. When I first thought about turning Odin‘s adventures into a children‘s story several years ago, I was initially gripped with enthusiasm and eagerly began putting his personality into typed word, page after page, setting out his character for others to love and I handed it to someone who had worked in the editing industry for perusal. At this point my thoughts began to turn from enthusiastic planning, to doubt. I loved the concept but I was hardly J K Rowling. Yes, I had received very positive feedback from those who had read Odin‘s story, but they knew us well, and loved our efforts. I was busy with work, and was it right to publish a tale of a child’s riding delight when you were just a happy hacker? We were fairly limited in that too. As an adult had begun to doubt fairytale endings! The excuses were endless. I’d revisit it often, plan ideas for illustrations, website, and blog, think about connections I had who could help spread a little Of Odin‘s golden joy… when the time was rignt….I’d do It.
There is never a right time. Recently someone close to me has been severely affected by mental health problems which led me to come back to thinking about the power of the mind, and how it is both your biggest asset and potentially your biggest enemy. The benefits Meditation, visualisation and positive self-talk are well-recognised; but in order for the benefits to come to fruition, you need to take action and steps towards what you want surely?- I tasked myself with less thinking, more doing. An acquaintance made an insignificant comment recently, ‘I wanted red hair so I made it happen’ . Thinking about turning Odin into a book wasn’t making it happen. t was like saying you wanted to lose weight, whilst shoving another doughnut into your mouth.

An extended period of furlough leave gifted me time, to put my ‘make it happen’ mindset into action. I set up this website and began to blog.
