I don’t like the word ‘disability’ and I don’t like labels. The sum of me is greater than those. I’ve lost count of the number of times someone has met me and greeted me with the words ‘Hello oh what’s wrong with you?’ It’s an opportunity to tell them what’s right with me. Physical challenges are not something anyone should ever be defined by. Slowly but surely society’s perceptions are changing and that’s encouraging.
